This virtual 1.5 hour training session will provide clinicians with evidence-based strategies to identify and support individuals at risk for suicide using the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper model. Participants will gain practical skills to recognize warning signs, engage individuals in crisis, and connect them to appropriate care. In addition to QPR, the training will integrate the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) to enhance clinical assessment and documentation of suicide risk.

The agenda will include the following key components:

  • Warning Signs of suicidal ideation and behavior

  • Risk and Protective Factors that influence suicide risk

  • Common Myths and Facts about suicide to address misconceptions

  • Behavioral Cues and Red Flags that clinicians may observe in various settings

  • Resources and Referral Pathways to ensure individuals receive timely and effective support

By the end of this session, clinicians will be equipped with actionable tools and knowledge to confidently engage in life-saving interventions and incorporate suicide risk assessments, such as the C-SSRS, into their clinical practice.

1.5 CEU will be available for clinicians who attend the training.

This training is generously offered by CWC member Leigh A. Reposa. Leigh is a LICSW and has spent the last 16 years working in the Youth Suicide Prevention Public Health field.
